Telemetry
T-IA Connect collects anonymous usage data to improve the product. Here is what we collect, what we don't, and how to disable everything.
What We Collect
- Application and operating system version
- Features used (action type only, never the content)
- Errors and crashes encountered to improve stability
- Startup information (detected TIA Portal versions, prerequisite status)
- Quota usage statistics (counters only)
What We Do NOT Collect
- ✕No personal data (no name, email, or identity)
- ✕No source code or TIA Portal project content
- ✕No file paths or network configuration
- ✕No passwords or login credentials
- ✕No content from your AI Copilot conversations
Data Security
- Machine identifier is anonymized via SHA-256 hash before transmission - impossible to trace back to your computer
- All communications are encrypted via HTTPS with certificate pinning (SPKI)
- If transmission fails, the event is silently dropped with no impact on the application
- In debug or development mode, no telemetry is sent
How to Disable Telemetry
Usage events can be disabled with a single click in the application settings:
Settings → General → TelemetryEnabled = false
Startup pings (app version, prerequisite status) remain active to help diagnose installation issues. They contain no personal data.
